Eve: Roots of Us All is a 50×50 cm mixed media collage created in January 2010 by artist Babak Mobasheri. This vibrant and symbolic piece blends ancient myth with modern digital culture to explore the essence of human connection.
At the heart of the artwork lies Eve—the archetypal mother figure—cradled within the Earth. From her body, roots extend upward like branches of a tree, blossoming into the faces of hundreds of people. Each face represents a real friend from the artist’s social media network, all of whom were tagged in the digital version of the piece, transforming a traditional myth into an interactive and communal artwork.
This piece is both personal and universal. It invites viewers to reflect on our shared origins, interconnectedness, and the new ways we build identity and community in the digital age.
Interwoven with the spirit of this message are the immortal words of Persian poet Saadi Shirazi:
“Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.”
Eve: Roots of Us All is not only a visual celebration of unity but also a timeless reminder that from one origin, we continue to grow—together.

Welcome to My Halloween Party! is a large-scale collage on paper created by Babak Mobasheri in 2010—a vivid explosion of Halloween spirit, social connection, and hand-crafted creativity.
Rather than using Photoshop, Babak printed and hand-cut the profile pictures of his Facebook friends, assembling them into one fantastical haunted gathering. Everyone is transformed—witch hats, pumpkins, ghosts, and ghouls mix with real people, as if the boundaries between reality and imagination have vanished. Every friend was tagged on Facebook, making the piece not only a visual celebration, but an interactive experience—a true art-meets-social-media experiment.
The artwork became a featured piece in the Halloween Art Exhibit in Chicago, USA, recognized for its originality, humor, and playful commentary on online connection and identity.
Here, the physical meets the digital. The spooky meets the social. And you’re officially invited:
